About Martin Bolton
I am a qualified industrial designer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. I currently am working as a researcher, lecturer, and freelance product designer.
I have completed a National Diploma in Three Dimensional Design, a BTech Industrial Design, and most recently Masters in Industrial Design. I have three years experience as a practicing freelance designer, researcher, and lecturer.
I was able to visit Aspen, Copenhagen and Dublin linked to my design and research conducted in the last few years, and my work has been published in various print and online media both locally and internationally.
I have received an international design award in the Good Design Awards 2009 in the Energy Systems category. These design awards are presented and hosted by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, and the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. This is an International Design Competition “The world's top corporations win over 500 prestigious good design™ awards setting the highest standard for the best, most advanced product designs, branding, and graphics for 2009.”
My design and research has been presented at various exhibitions, including Design Indaba (South Africa), Code Expo (Denmark), and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design (United States of America).
If you are interested in purchasing any of my designs or require my design services, please let me know. The products are usually manufactured as small batches or one-offs. Some of the included designs are conceptual and have not [yet] been manufactured. I am able to design, develop, and oversee the manufacture of products, providing the final solution in-hand.
