Fixing up a Yamaha XT500 from 1985

I purchased an old Yamaha motorcycle, an XT500 enduro motorcycle from 1985 (shown above). This motorcycle may be used for commuting around town and to effectively weave between the long queues of cars, down stairs, over potholes, and through public parks, and over side walks. It was purchases as is seen in the above photograph. The modifications and developments of the motorcycle were posted here periodically. The outcome is shown below.

Working on the wiring
(you can see it's a mess). This photo is an attempt at an HDR photo. It came out quite nice.

Below are some of the photographs I took while I was busy on the bike... the work in progress... Also, there is a youtube video of me trying to start the bike, and it kicked me back a bit (not hard enough to break my ankle luckily).

Big thanks to beer

I'd like to specially thank my father who helped me with some stuff on the bike, in particular the wiring and ignition. So dad when you're over in Europe and keep track of what I'm doing while going through my website, I hope you enjoy it. Also thanks to all the different breweries which made the many different beers which I drank whilst workingon the bike, all grimey in the garage.
